But alas, to be honest, we slept in 11pm. Hahahaha not even in time for countdown cos was really too sleepy and tired. Lol! Old liao.

Happy 1st Year Anniversary

Today is my first year anniversary with BB Dave, I mean really wedding anniversary kind. How fast time flies, that we had been officially married for 1 year now. And everything seems to be the same, haha. Maybe because we had been together for almost 9 years, so wedding is just part of the ceremony instead of something romantic to us.

We do no go out for fancy dinner, because I was tired over past few days. You know Christmas eve, Christmas day then CNY shopping because sales gonna over soon. However, we did have a decent Japanese meal yesterday. As for today, I decided to cook some meal at home for simple celebration. And I am so proud that I had completed my mission a month earlier. I finished buying all my CNY clothing for family members. As well as for myself and my husband. I had learned the lesson that, buy what's first caught your eyes because there will NEVER be a better one when it's near CNY. Haha.

Black Pepper Lamb Chop & Macaroni

The black pepper lamb chop, yummy one.

My macaroni. Initially, I wanted to bake a cheese macaroni, but ran out of bacon. So, simple bolognese flavor will be good enough too.

And BB Dave's most capable's salad. Haha. Ok la, that's basically the best thing he made and I praised it's good. So, he likes to make this for me.

Delicious ever.

Not forgetting to "kampai" for the event.

Happy first year. Wish for many more good years ahead dear.

Taipei, Taiwan Day 2 (Part C)

Beitou was not worth visiting if you do not have intention of going to feel the hotspring. The only reason why we went to Beitou is because we wanted to take a picture of the hell valley, the beautiful hotspring which open for visit. Because the weather was so hot, and the place located all the way up the hill, we took our walk which made us sweaty and tired like a pig.

First stop, when you walked all the way from the MRT station, the museum of hotspring.

Entrance was free, basically you just need to take off you shoes and put on their slipper. Some of the rooms inside were air-conditioned and I thought I reached heaven, cos I was perspiring damn much. You called that Autumn in Taiwan, I called that Summer in Malaysia. Wtf.

Nothing much inside, you don't expect much from a free entrance right. Just some old and historical stuff, arrgghh boring lah.

And got a room with aircon playing some old black and white "liu shan jie" movie. My goodness, who the heck will ever watch that. Indeed there were two aunties inside watching. After all, free movie, why not?

Then there was this room which disallow photographing. Inside were actually some old wedding culture and love story of the people here. And you get to stamp a tourist thing and pick a bookmark to bring home.

We left the museum and went up again to find hell valley. Some scenic view along the road. And there was this so call ermm... small river which is consider "free hotspring" of cos. FYI, even the water inside their longkang is hot spring water ok. Haha. And many ppl actually went down to soak their leg. But definitely not us cos we are darn tired.

Yes finally reached. But.. But.. But.. it was closed?!

Got this message board, lucky I thought, there was another entrance.

Imagine, I needed to walk all these way up??!!! No kidding.

Up the staircase, you needed to walk up hill again, holy crap!

WTF?! No second entrance, we only could view it far far away, I was kena conned kao kao that day. I was so damn hot, tired and tulan.

Then we decided to call it a trip, damn tulan. I wanted to leave this place ASAP! Along the way, some statue erm I believe their mascot or anything cos I saw it a lot in Beitou.

Cute!

Next, Danshui...

Steamed Horlick Oreo Cake

I had the baking mood today. Because CNY is getting nearer and nearer ... less than 2 months to be exact. I was thinking to contribute some cake for the festival. So, imma start practising all sorts of cakes to see which will champ the variety to bring home.

Horlick powder, all purpose flour and little baking powder. Because I am steaming it, if you want to have the kind of steamed cake without much air hole, don't use the baking powder or you may try to decrease the amount. I decreased by half.

2 large eggs.

Milk. I couldn't find condensed milk around so I sub it with my full cream dutch lady milk. Haha.

Castor Sugar.

Butter at room temperature.

Crashed Oreo. Original recipe had no Oreo, I added in myself. My advice is not to crush it too much, big pieces might seems better in the cake.

Sifted all the powder together.

Beat the butter and castor sugar in high speed until it's white and fluffy.

Can see that's what I called white and fluffy. Added in one egg each time and beat at low speed.

Next, add in the milk slowly and combined well.

Slowly added in the sifted powder.

Added in the crushed Oreo and simply used your spatula to mix well.

Pour over your pan. Because I was making a small one, thus I didn't use proper electronic steamer but my rice cooker.

To avoid water dripping from the rice cooker lid, cover your mixture with aluminum foil.

Steamed for 30-40 minutes. Use a chopstick to test the cake.

Out clear, means DONE!

Let it cool down.

And here you are, steamed horlick oreo cake. Simple and delicous.

Taipei, Taiwan Day 2 (Part B)

Hello, it's me! Hectic over the past week. BB Dave had left me for good to Lumut and Pangkor, to enjoy himself with bikini babes. Hmmpf. And I got a visit from my good friend and her family. Lucky me, else I will be terrible lonely and bored to death with mushrooms all over my head. So, I went out for shopping the entire holiweekend. Enjoy myself a lot, cos I shop with ladies instead of gentlemen this time.

Continue my Taiwan Day 2 la. So much more to upload and blog, it's just Day 2 I am telling and yet it's only 2nd part. Tons of pictures ahead, read it yourself.

I went to Taiwan Storyland. It's just a stone throw away from my hotel. For instance, hmm walking from Sg Wang to Times Square? About that distance. Taiwan Storyland isn't a free entrance visit. You pay some entrance fee, erm I forgot how much but not like RM50 or RM100 kind, it's pretty decent. The place is much like a museum to me, a live museum where you can touch and play with the things inside. You felt like you were back to 70s and 80s.

And on the day of our visit, these bunch of kindy kids were on their study visit to Taiwan Storyland too. They were terribly annoying BUT cute.

We're there early, the gate wasn't even opened yet. So, everyone was waiting. Btw, most of Taipei's shop and business started pretty late, like 11am? Almost noon except for food & beverages.

Tadah.

Old bike at the entrance.

The mascot I supposed.

Some displayed stuff which was gua gua boring.

First stop was this old "kedai runcit" which you actually could buy some very traditional old stuff like . . .

The whistle sweets. OMG, I remembered I used to have this back in primary school.

The balloon thing. Like you squeeze some sticky stuff onto the straw and you blew it, remember?

Paper card plane. I bought one of these, er.. BB Dave requested actually.

"rong shu" er.. I forgot what it's called in English. You know the oldies... "lu bian yi ke, rong shu xia.." --> roadside got one rong xu... hahaha

Then under the rong shu always have the old puppet show. This was the stage. There were some puppets there to play but it's pretty dirty and most of their head were gone. Pretty sickening.

The 70s old street.

Then I found the classroom. You know, the one we always watch in er.. Taiwan drama kind.

Nice!

Those funfair games. There were pretty much games and you could actually paid to play. Like guessing cards thing, the gold fish catching, the darts thing, etc etc.

Jump aeroplane, direct translate lah.

How come I couldn't find these cars for my wedding. Hmmm.

All sort of things you could pose with.

Ya, the pirated policeman hehe.

And the innocent rule breaker being locked down.

The real bad guy.

Some old bar.

Old house.

So 70s lah.

Call me sinseh. I am Wong Fei Hung's follower.

Wishing House. Write your wish and hang inside this house.

There were actually more than these, but alas my camera battery was very limited that day. I was so careful not to keep snapping away. At least, some major shoots.

Because the battery went down, I need to head back to charge and lucky I stayed nearby. Else, it would be so waste the rest of the day without pictures especially when I was going to Danshui in the evening.

So, I stopped by the shop opposite the hotel to tapao some nice food. So much to order, my god.

Bought drinks from Family Mart which was like 7-11 and just next to our hotel.

Hmm favourite!!!

Pig's blood. OMG!!!!!! I am so drooling now.

He ordered fried beef noodle. So darn good. I bet they used pork lard.

So good la, omg I miss it so much.

Then I ordered a "bian dan"... the rice box.

Pork chop rice. Gosh, I tell you what's real nice food. I don't know even it's just a simple rice box, but it tasted so nice so nice sooo sooo soo nice. I can never find such in Malaysia.

While eating and waiting for my battery to recover. More about Danshui and Beitou next.

Taipei, Taiwan Day 2 (Part A)

First and foremost, want to declare the happiness in me cos I had been waiting for a month to get my new ride and it's eventually delivered yesterday to me, great!! I love to smell the interior of new car, smelt just like new dollar notes. Oops, am I too maniac or something? I hope no. Haha.

And that was like holy crap, guess my number plate? Hahaha it's WTF!!! Ohh I just love the number plate WTF. Cos have you imagined how expensive is to buy car in Malaysia? It cost me almost a low cost apartment already.

Ok let's continue my unfinished Taiwan trip. I better blog all, else I will be lazy and not bother to blog about the trip anymore. Haha.

Moi ready for day 2. It wasn't so cold actually, but kinda windy.

Lotsa nice good opposite our stay. Breakfast as planned. The shop open til late, don't worry that you have nothing to eat, you have almost too much to eat.

Xiao Long Bao was like RM6 oni....omg! Eat till you lau sai.

Pan Fried bun with cabbage fillings. Nice try. Cos I kept watch this on Astro, they called what "sui jian bao" - water fried bun as in direct translate.

Corn soup, nothing special. Ordered because my BB Dave loves corn soup.

Black soya bean. Not in terms of using gula melaka like Msia ok. It's really black color bean.

Moi eating cabbage bun.

Him drinking black soya.

And that's hotel entrance, small but trust me it was a nice hotel. BB Dave caught minor flu, so action put on mask I bought him.

Some street photos. Well purposely intentionally pose beside a Lexus, what, cannot ah?

Based on my google research, I knew there is one Mama's egg biscuit as breakfast nearby. And based on my handmade map, I found it! So much in the menu.

I can't order all, because we were quite full.

So, I got my favourite cheese.

Nom Nom Nom . . .

Very satisfied!!

Oh by the way, imagine you had an LCD outside your shop in Malaysia to broadcast advertisement? Hahaha 101% kena stolen. But no worries in Taiwan, that's what we called civilization. Very the safe.

Next, we're going to Taiwan Storyland which was also a stone throw away from the hotel. See, how strategic it was.

To be continued . . .

Christmas 2009

La La La... the happiest festival is coming. Christmas is the most anticipating festival of the year for me apart from Chinese New Year. Because everything is so beautiful during the month, and it's a holiday and sales month. Everything seems awesome. Even though I did not have any special planning or parties to attend, but it always the best celebration of the year. Even by just sitting at home, listening to Christmas carol or just watching some santa's movie on HBO, it makes my day.

I got to decorate a christmas tree this year in my own house eventually. Last year was not in time, cos we were heading home for wedding. I had the idea of blue christmas this year, instead of pink. Strange huh? Because those pinkish ornament is not having the pink that I want. Either a fuchsia or baby pink was what I want, but mostly were in the pink near to purple which doesn't really my cup of tea.

Bought the DIY stuff.

Bring out all the branches, the botak christmas tree.

Many bluish ornaments

And silvers.

When ornaments were up . . .

And my Cupid of Love

Darang . . . with no lights

My BB was fixing the lights

Light up ceremony

Half of my living room lights off

All lights off . . . hmm nice.

And I had watched Twilight Saga : New Moon. As I expected, not much between Edward Cullen and Bella Swan as the novel goes that way. And I don't understand why the two ladies in front me went in AWE so loud when Jacob Black took off his shirt, showing his muscular body. It makes me & BB Dave can't help to laugh, as if they never seen any guys before. Haha. But it's still a nice one. I so gonna wait for Eclipse next summer. Ahh let me go to re-read my twilight saga novel again and again and again.... hahaha.

Merry Christmas dok.
